Ms. Holman is the education specialist for speech-language pathology
and assistive technology and will be coordinating training for Related Services personnel for Region 12. She will also serve on the team
for providing training in the area of autism. She brings to Region
12 eighteen years of experience as a speech-language pathologist
in the public schools of Texas. She is also the Region 12 representative
to the Texas Assistive Technology Network (TATN) and is a TSHA
Task Force on Eligibility trainer for the Language Eligibility
Template and the Fluency Template.

Join us for the 2nd annual ESC Region 12 SLP Summer Institute. Come get great research-based information and license renewal hours without making up therapy! This institute is two days packed with language intervention for infants through adolescent children. Expected language skills for various age groups will be reviewed, informal assessment of these skills will be explained and practiced, and practical interventions stemming from those assessments will be demonstrated. Special topics will include intervention for nonverbal students and children with intellectual disabilties, interventions in humor and figurative language, and special considerations for therapy for children with autism. Both days include a working lunch so that we can preserve some lazy summer afternoons by getting out at 2:30. TSHA credits are pending.
