Information on G/T Certification

On Friday, May 6, 2005, the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) voted NOT to require the new TExES Gifted and Talented Supplemental Certification for assignment to be part of a district’s gifted services.  The Texas Administrative Code rule (pasted below) remains in effect for the 2005 – 2006 school year.  The Gifted and Talented Supplemental Certification is an optional certification which educators may hold above and beyond the state requirements.
