Sharron has been in the field of special education for 19 years. Her experience ranges from elementary through the high school level with the majority of her time being at the high school level. While teaching elementary school, she was involved in many committees to investigate the development of effective inclusionary classrooms. Sharron was also involved in researching the use of art therapy as a method of improving self-concept in elementary age children with disabilities and was the recipient of the "Apple" award which provided funding for this project. After moving to the middle and high school levels, Sharron was involved in developing programs to meet the needs of all students in both Kansas and Texas and funding options related to these programs.

Sharron was co-creator of the "Big Blue D.R.E.A.M.S." (developing real employment and management skills) program while working for Temple Independent School District in Temple, Texas. She is currently working with adult service agency representatives to develop this program into a thriving adult business as well for individuals with disabilities.

She currently provides technical assistance to school districts in the area of Transition and Multicultural and Diverse Learners. She assists districts with all state and federal guidelines related to these two areas including Indicator 13 and 14. She coordinates training and workshops in topics related to transition and MDL and is a member of the Statewide Transition Network and MDL Network.
